POLITICS IS LOCAL...
 But U.S. Congress Usurps Local Power 

 Less and Less of a Republic Every Year    

Our Country was created as a republic.  The framers of the Constitution designed it this way based on the recognition that politics is local.   What affects us at the local level is what is important to us. Unfortunately  what affects Congress is K street and the money that drives those special interests.

The Focus of NSC is forcing Washington to focus on the needs of the people as represented in constituent assemblies

Our focus of the moment is on national issues because that is the nature of our web effort. If we are to become effective we must also consider local issues. For that we need issue authors for major population areas. For a description of particular state issues go to stateline.org.

Current Polls Don't Do a Good Job of Sorting the Issues.

  The difficulty with current polls is not that they are slanted but that the slant is not identified.  The become in effect a propaganda effort by the sponsor.  Propaganda  and advertising efforts are part and parcel of the political process but clear identification of the sponsor  of every poll must be clearly identified with each pol

How Does One Vote When a Vote Means Endorsing

"None of the Above" write-in votes is one way.  Unity08 is an example of another way. "None of the Above" ballot efforts were a major force in Western states, and some of those web sites are still up. See Nota"

Avoidance of Hate and Ethnocentricism is Key

We must avoid those movements that engage in, or encourage, violence and destruction as an acceptable national tool of change. Avoiding those groups that advocate accommodation with hatred and tyrants so as to reach "peace at any price" is also essential. Police and international force will be necessary until our world has figured out how to deal with psychopaths and sociopaths at local and international levels. Peace, while a desirable condition, is a status that cannot be obtained by inaction against psychopaths, except for the dead.
